The variations in mine type, terrain and military mine warfare practices produces a complex combination of challenges, challenges that generate the need for a “Tool Bag” approach to the clearance problem. No one solution will meet the needs of every situation.

To meet the need of every situation soar:

ATC was able to use the following demining, UXO clearance and mine action techniques as part of its overall clearance strategy:

¶ Mechanical Mine Clearance using Flail,

¶ Mechanical Mine Clearance using Backhoe Machines,

¶ Mechanical Mine Clearance using Rotary Cutter,

¶ Mechanical Excavation (MET),

¶  And Mine Awareness Education
