WFP Sandbag Project

 

Sandbags are used as a means of shielding property from damage when exploding mines/UXOs in residential and metropolitan areas. For this purpose, ATC implements a sandbagging project with the support of the WFP (World Food Program). This project creates job opportunities for more than 1200 people in Kabul City annually.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Following is brief information on Sand Bag Project during 2002:

The Project started on April 24 2002 and would continue to End of Project;

The number of labors employed by the Project from January to March 2002 is 1663.

Total Bags prepared or issued to teams by Project (40400 Bags and 22300 sackcloth).

124 MT wheat was proposed, which was approved by WFP.

92,748 MT wheat has been distributed to labors.

During this period 1663 labors were hired in the Grops.
